National Walking Day 2015 at Rutherford

According to the American Heart Association, we lose nearly 18,000 Tennesseans each year from heart diseases and stroke. Yet these are largely preventable through healthy living behaviors – like walking. The employees and nursing students at Saint Thomas Rutherford took 15 minutes to walk around the campus on April 1, 2015 on National Walking Day. The AHA asked Middle Tennessee to walk a total of 18,000 minutes and donate those minutes by posting it on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram using the hashtag #18Kminutes. Murfreesboro Family Works Out Together to Stay Motivated

They are the Kanes and each have their own reasons to exercise. Mary Kane is 90 and works out three times a week to stay alive and alert. Gloria Kane lost 60 pounds before having knee replacement surgery. Larry Kane suffered a heart attack and doctors say he would’ve died if he hadn’t been working out. All three of them work out together at the Wellness Center inside Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN.
