Brian Gill, MSW, MBA
Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
Brian Gill is the Chief Administrative Officer for Saint Thomas Stones River Hospital in Woodbury, TN and the Vice President of Behavioral Health for Saint Thomas Health. Brian was awarded his Masters of Social Work degree from Walla Walla University and later obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Brian has worked in healthcare throughout his career in a variety of clinical and administrative positions specializing in the behavioral health of youth, adults and older adults.
Brian’s experience includes crisis intervention, outpatient and inpatient behavioral health treatment, rural mental health consultation and EAP services. Prior to joining Saint Thomas Health in March 2017, Brian served as a Regional Operations Director for a large healthcare system supporting 10 behavioral health programs located across the United States. He has also held executive level positions at Sonora Behavioral Health in Tucson, Arizona and Montevista Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Previously, Brian led an integrated community mental health center comprised of a three-agency consortium, and has overseen the daily operations of an psychiatric crisis center serving approximately 1,800 voluntary and involuntary adults a month.
Brian has received extensive training on Solution Focused Therapy as a clinical and management model. He is interested in and has experience working with Lean Management and High Reliability models. In addition to his clinical and administrative experience, Brian has served as an adjunct faculty member at Phoenix College in Phoenix, Arizona and has provided numerous presentations to lay people and professionals on a range of topics related to mental illness, substance abuse, and social services.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Alan Sharp is the Chief Financial Officer for Saint Thomas DeKalb and Saint Thomas Stones River Hospitals. Alan graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a B.S degree in Accounting and an M.B.A. During his 24 years in healthcare administration, Alan has worked as a CFO, CEO, Controller, Consultant and Vice President of Operations. He has been with these Saint Thomas hospitals since 2011.
Alan and his wife Amanda are parents to five active children ranging in age from 5 to 16. They enjoy spending time following the activities of their children. Alan also enjoys fishing and following the University of Tennessee athletic teams. Alan states that he is “proud to be part of the Saint Thomas family, and the resources that it brings our smaller, rural facilities.”
Emily Elrod, BSN, RN
Director of Nursing
Emily Elrod is the Director of Nursing for Saint Thomas DeKalb and Saint Thomas Stones River Hospitals. From a patient care tech at age 18, to recently receiving her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Western Governors University, Emily has spent her life caring for people. She has held many clinical roles including Med-Surg Unit Manager, ED Director and Director of Clinical Operations. Emily grew up in rural Tennessee and understands the personal care expectations of a hometown hospital.
Emily and her husband, Jason, have three children and recently welcomed their first grandchild.
