Gordon B. Ferguson, FACHE, is president and CEO of Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and president of Saint Thomas Regional Hospitals. He has served as Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital president and chief executive officer since 2006; he was named Saint Thomas Regional Hospitals president in 2015.

Ferguson has more than 20 years of healthcare experience and in 2009 was named one of Business Tennessee Magazine’s top 25 hospital operators in Tennessee. In 2010, he was named one of Nashville Business Journal’s Healthcare Heroes and the 2010 Daily News Journal (DNJ) Person of the Year.

Ferguson began his career as director of planning in 1984 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton in Birmingham, Alabama. Two years later, he became Vice President of Corporate Services for The Baptist Health System of East Tennessee. In 1990, Ferguson joined Clarksville Memorial Hospital (now Gateway Medical Center) as Vice President for Operations. In 1998, he joined Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital as senior vice president of support services and subsequently served as senior vice president of operations. In 2004, Ferguson was named chief operating officer. He oversaw the construction of the $267 million Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital on Medical Center Parkway, facilitated the establishment of joint ventures and completed a master facility plan as part of the hospital's overall strategic plan.

Ferguson received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He earned a master's degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. In 2007, Ferguson became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and previously served as president of the Healthcare Executive Forum of Middle Tennessee (HEFMT).

Ferguson serves as a board member and executive committee member of the United Way of Rutherford & Cannon County; he is a board member of the American Heart Association, Rutherford County; the Business Education Partnership Foundation; Leadership Middle Tennessee; Alive Hospice Murfreesboro Advisory Board; and the Franklin Synergy Bank Community Board. Ferguson was the 2011 President of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also serves on the boards of the University of Tennessee Knoxville Alumni Association; the University of Tennessee President’s Council; the University of Alabama-Birmingham Graduate Program in Healthcare Administration Alumni Board; and the Tennessee State Board of Education.

He is a member of noon Rotary in Murfreesboro, and a graduate of Leadership Rutherford. He and his wife, Cindy, a speech language pathologist with Murfreesboro City Schools, live in Murfreesboro. They have two sons, Robbie, a University of Tennessee, Knoxville, graduate, and Andy, a student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The family attends First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.

Donald DenmarkDr. Timothy Bode
Chief Medical Officer

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Bode is responsible for clinical excellence at the Rutherford campus and Saint Thomas Health's Regional hospitals.  Since starting practice in 1997, Dr. Bode has been in various leadership roles including Chief of Hospital Medicine and CMIO for Baptist Health in Alabama. Most recently, Dr. Bode served as SVP & Chief Medical Officer of Memorial Health in Jacksonville, FL, where he had multiple clinical and operational responsibilities.  His formal education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Davis, an M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, and an MBA from University of Massachusetts Amherst.  Dr. Bode is a former Major in the USAF and is a Senior Fellow in the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM).


Thomas E. Roddy
Chief Operations Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Roddy is responsible for the day-to-day management of hospital operations, including development and implementation of high-quality, cost-effective and integrated clinical programs within the hospital. He is also responsible for the management of operating budgets and oversight of the hospital's planning, policies and practices in collaboration with the executive leadership team.  Thomas comes to Saint Thomas Health with more than a decade of hospital operations experience. Prior to joining the Saint Thomas Health team, Roddy served as Chief Operating Officer at Flowers Hospital, and Chief Executive Officer at HealthSouth Montgomery, both in Alabama. Thomas’ experience on the executive leadership teams of both hospitals includes the establishment and management of growth initiatives, leading the expansion of key service lines, and development and implementation of budget reduction plans.  Thomas has been a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2009. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Organizational Philosophy and a Masters of Business Administration, both from Middle Tennessee State University and earned a Master's of Science in Health Administration and Informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. 


Bailey PrattBailey Pratt
Chief Financial Officer

In March 2017, Bailey Pratt, CPA, transitioned to the leadership team of Saint Thomas Health as Chief Financial Officer for Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital from the Chief Financial Officer at Saint Thomas Medical Partners.

Bailey joined Saint Thomas Health in 2011 and has worked in multiple capacities since that time, including as a financial analyst, Business Operations Division Director for Saint Thomas West Hospital, Chief Financial Officer for Saint Thomas Hickman Hospital and as Chief Financial Officer for STMP.

With STMP, Bailey was responsible for the financial performance of our multi-specialty physician-led medical group and served as a strategic partner to the Physician-led STMP Board and Practice / Executive Committees for both long-range and short-range financial plans and objectives. Under Bailey's leadership, STMP developed new standard analytical reporting packages to ensure the Physicians and Management had the key performance indicators needed to support and drive operational and financial results.

Bailey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Miami University of Ohio and earned his MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.


Stacey BeavenStacey Beaven
Chief Nursing Officer


Stacey Beaven has served as Chief Nursing officer at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital since 2014, where she has led the “Nothing shall be Impossible” journey in partnership with Studer.  Beaven previously served as the Vice President of Nursing Services at Baptist Health in Madisonville, Kentucky. She had been with the Baptist Health System since 1987, serving in a variety of roles. During her time at Baptist Health, she was involved with numerous quality improvement initiatives, as well as developing a shared leadership nursing model.


Carol BragdonCarol Bragdon
Human Resources Director

Carol Bragdon has served at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital for 24 years. She came to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital as a registered nurse and patient care director. Bragdon has served as a nurse recruiter and recruitment retention specialist. Since 2002, she has served as director of human resources. For seven years, Bragdon worked as the sole recruiter for the 1250 associate medical facility. In 2001, she was responsible for hiring more than 450. Bragdon received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She went on to complete her master's degree in healthcare services administration from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. Bragdon has served with the United Way of Rutherford County, Boy Scouts of America and the YMCA. She and her husband, Rob, live in Murfreesboro with their two sons, Robert and Austin.
