The Rutherford Society

The Rutherford Society is the group of people that love Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital the most. The Society thanks all donors of $1,000 or more per year, with two tickets to the Rutherford Society Gala, scheduled in January of each year. Held at The Embassy Suites, this black tie event recognizes the supporters of the Foundation and the Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. A nationally known keynote speaker is featured each year and past participants include Archie Manning, Dr. Ben Carson, Governor Mike Huckabee, Robyn Roberts, Capt. Sully Sullenberger, David Price, Lou Holtz, Kirk Herbstreit and SEAL TEAM SIX Leader Robert J. O'Neill.

Power of Pink

The Power of Pink fundraising initiative began 12 years ago in an effort to provide awareness, education and diagnostic breast services for those who have not been screened for breast cancer in Rutherford County. Founded by Patty Marschel, and assisted by Rita Ash, Leslie Akins, Caroline Lampley and Dave Davis, Jr. over the years, the outpouring of love and financial support has steadily increased, enabling efforts to reach thousands of local women who are not able to provide these services for themselves. The six year old Wine Around the Square is a September community event, sponsored by the Foundation, featuring wine tastings around the historic Square in downtown Murfreesboro.

Guardian Angel

The Guardian Angel program offers patients and their family members an opportunity to recognize a physician, nurse, hospital associate, or other care giver who made a difference during their visit to a Saint Thomas Health hospital or medical practice. We proudly recognize the following Saint Thomas Health’s Guardian Angels for their outstanding, compassionate care.

The Commonwealth Society

The Commonwealth Society was established in 1996 by the Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation Board of Directors, as a forum for future leaders of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County. By invitation only, this opportunity is offered for young community leaders under 40, to learn about and explore modern healthcare issues and experience a behind-the-scenes look at Saint Thomas Rutherford. Monthly breakfast meetings, including education about hospital operations, LEAN initiatives, and actual hospital tours occur for five months from January to May.

The Murfree Circle

The Mission Statement of the newly formed The Murfree Circle is to serve and educate vibrant professionals about Saint Thomas Rutherford and its goals in serving the community, especially assisting those who are poor and vulnerable; while simultaneously developing a lasting relationship that promotes activism both within the council and community to advance the overall health of our community. The Murfree Circle will engage local professionals who work with clients on planned giving and estate planning needs, including but not limited to attorneys, CPA’s, brokers, bank trust officers and financial planners.

Ambassadors

The Saint Thomas Rutherford Ambassadors organization was created in 1989 as a support group of the Saint Thomas Rutherford Foundation. The primary purpose of the Ambassadors is to educate members about Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and raise funds for various areas of the hospital, including the Saint Louise Clinic.
