LaQuita Cheatham grew up in Columbia, Tennessee and obtained her Associates of Applied Sciences in Nursing from Columbia State Community College in 1988. She began her career in nursing as an Occupational Health Nurse with interest in pre-hospital, emergency and critical care. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1998 and received her Master of Science in Nursing a year later. LaQuita became a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner in January of 2000. LaQuita has worked in primary care, occupational medicine, physical medicine and rehab, and pain management. Prior to joining STMP Columbia Neurology, LaQuita was associated with the State of Tennessee Department of Health. LaQuita is well known for her compassion, intense sense of patient advocacy and devotion to her family and her patients.
