Leta Collins earned an associate's in science degree in nursing from Union University in Jackson, TN. After working in a variety of nursing and nursing leadership positions for approximately 20 years, Collins earned a master's of science degree in nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University in 2001. She has earned board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The initials "ACNP, BC" following Collins' name stand for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified. Most recently, Collins has served as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Prior to that she worked at Fairfield Glade Specialty Clinic, where she worked with Dr. Hix. She has also worked at Upper Cumberland Family Physicians, Cookeville Urgent Care Clinic and Copeland Medical Clinic. Her vast nursing experience has included serving as Director of the Employee Health Clinic at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for eight years as well as in cardiac rehabilitation for a number of hospitals and clinics, including East Tennessee Baptist Hospital, Human Hospital McFarland and Quality Medical Center.
