Dr. Kimberly Shannon was born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor's degree in Nursing. She worked as an operating room nurse at Vanderbilt for two years and then as a research nurse for an orthopedic surgeon for 3 years. She then went to medical school at UT Memphis and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. She joined the Internal Medicine department at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic in 1998. She is a member of the AMA and ACP.
Dr. Shannon enjoys reading, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, music and travel but primarily enjoys being at home playing with her daughter and husband. She is a member of First Baptist Church where she is actively involved and enjoys teaching a girl's mission class once a week.
