Elaine joined Connectus in February of 2011. She is a 1982 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Midwifery specialty. Prior to joining Connectus, Elaine worked as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Clinical Instructor for the Vanderbilt School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee and as the Founder and Director of Midwifery Services at Atlanta Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to working at Vanderbilt and Atlanta Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates, Elaine also held positions as a midwifery staff nurse, a childbirth educator, and a clinical instructor for maternal-infant nursing. Elaine is incredibly dedicated to her patients, the Connectus Midwifery practice, and has been an outspoken advocate for the midwifery model for many years. In addition to her role at Connectus, Elaine also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
