Saint Thomas Health recognizes the importance of recruiting highly qualified staff to provide the highest quality of care possible. Filling a vacant position is a high priority, and accordingly, a referral bonus may be granted to Saint Thomas Health associates who refer an applicant that is hired into a qualifying position.


Candidate Referral Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for referral under the Employee Referral Program, referred applicants must fully meet the qualification requirements listed in the job description for the position and have a minimum of one year related experience.

Applicants are required to include the name of the current Saint Thomas Health associate who referred them on the application for employment. This must be done at the time the application is submitted for employment.


Saint Thomas Health Associate Eligibility

All associates are eligible to participate in the program regardless of status (FT, PT or PRN) unless they are in an excluded position.

  • The referring associate must be employed by the organization at the time of referral.
  • The referring associate must be employed by the organization at the time of hire of the referred candidate.
  • The referring associate must remain an associate of the organization to be eligible for subsequent referral bonus.
  • There is no limit to the number of referrals made by an associate. 


IfIf the referred applicant accepts employment with Saint Thomas Health and is hired into an eligible job code, the referring associate will receive a referral bonus in two increments. The initial bonus payment is made when the referred new-hire has completed his/her initial 90-day introductory period in the approved full time eligible job code. A second and final bonus payment is made after the new hire works six months in the same position and status.
